What are Vouches?
Vouches are a feature to help build a community of respect and trust on WeAreX. They're little stamps of recommendation and approval, the app equivalent of saying "My mate Steve? Really decent guy, actually".
Vouches should only be given to people you think are good human beings, and who you genuinely trust, as some people will look to vouches when making decisions about connecting or meeting.
Who's It For?
People use vouches in different ways. They are particularly important in the kink community - you want to know that person tying you up for the evening knows what they're doing, after all - but they're a great way to show others on the app that you recommend someone for a more vanilla date, too.
If you're poly or non-mongamous and your partners are also on the app, vouching for them can be a lovely way to show your support and encouragement in their exploration.
How's It Done?
You can only vouch for people you are connected with.
Here's a quick guide to Vouching for a connection...
Find the connection you want to vouch for and simply scroll down to the vouch button on your connection's profile.
Click through to confirm your vouch, et voilà.
Removing Your Vouch
If you want to unvouch them at any time, you can, and if you stop being connected to that person your vouch will automatically disappear.
Here's a quick guide to removing your vouch..
Find the connection who's vouch you want to remove and scroll down and click on Unvouch.
Click through to confirm your unvouch.
You will receive a confirmation that your vouch has been removed.
The person who you have removed your vouch for will not be informed
Hidden Vouches
Vouches can be hidden from your profile, so if you don't want to show them, you don't have to.
Here's a quick guide on how to hide your vouches...
Log into the WeAreX app using your email and password. Go to your profile, by clicking your profile avatar bottom right corner.
Scroll down and click on Vouches. This will show you everyone who has vouched for you.
Click on the toggle, Don't show vouches on profile so it turns blue.
You can choose to hide them all, or only show certain Vouches by clicking the toggle next to the connection who has vouched for you.
Vouches are listed with the month and year, so you can see whether someone has recent vouches or if they're riding that sweet wave of vouches from one hundred years ago 🕺
Why do my Vouches have different numbers?
The number of vouches you see may differ from what others see due to various factors. For instance, if one of your connections is currently taking a break from the site or is in incognito mode, their vouches won't be visible to other members on your vouches list.
What should I do if someone is asking for vouches right after connecting or misusing vouches?
We take the misuse of vouches very seriously. If anyone is found abusing vouches, asking for vouches, or engaging in any form of buying or selling vouches, immediate action will be taken, and they will be removed from our community.
